Received and Transmitted Broadcast

The impact to me of last Sunday's preaching was like the last two verses of Psalm 139.

paraphrased: 'Lord search me and know if there's anything wrong within me, if there is, lead me to do things Your way. 

God impressed in my mind an illustration.

Below article is the result of such impression. I'm sharing this to encourage anyone put in the same  or almost similar situation.

Received and Transmitted Broadcast


Some brilliant people of the past had discovered electromagnetic waves and their properties. Then, some brilliant people who continued their researches had found ways to apply their discoveries to  make our lives now more comfortable and convenient.

Thanks to these brilliant people we are now enjoying mobile communication, the radio, and the television. There could be a lot more applications of electromagnetic waves but for the purpose of analogy let me just stick to the radio and the television. Before I continue, let me define a few terms in the simplest words that I could think of.

• Broadcast - the message from the source
• Source - the originator of the broadcast
• Electromagnetic wave - unseen atmospheric medium or carrier of the broadcast 
• Transmitter - device used by the source  to relay the broadcast. It uses  a specific  property of an electromagnetic wave. 
• Receiver - device that receives the broadcast. It can only receive a broadcast if its setting tunes in to the specific (property of the) electromagnetic wave
• Wavelength /  Frequency - the property that set apart electromagnetic waves from each other

The source (a radio or tv station) broadcasts its program by using a transmitter. The transmitter then uses a specific electromagnetic wave. If the receiver (radio/tv) tunes in to that specific wavelength/frequency of an electromagnetic wave, it will project the voices and/or images that that wave carries. (All devices need power, so, let us just assume that all devices are connected to a power source.)

If the transmitter has any technical or electrical problem it can not effectively broadcast what the source wants it to broadcast.

Likewise, if the receiver has any faulty wiring or was enclosed by structures that absorbs electromagnetic waves or simply its set up was not tuned to that specific wavelength it cannot receive the exact broadcast.

In analogy with spiritual life:

In our fallen world, there can only be two sources of broadcast and two types of broadcast.

(1) GOD - the creator and lover of mankind.

God broadcasts the very beat of his heart - to bring mankind back to his kingdom through his Son Jesus Christ. God broadcasts conviction, repentance, forgiveness, and unearned grace. (To go back to God)


(2) Satan - the enemy and destroyer of mankind.

When Satan usurped from Adam and Eve's hands the authority over the world he started his broadcast of rebellion against God. He broadcasts selfish pursuits that guarantee emotional or physical satisfaction, but, really just lead to spiritual death. (To stay away from God)


Humankind having both flesh and spirit can receive broadcast from both sources.  Now, the very soul (heart, mind, and will) of mankind aches because it is torn between two broadcasts.

• If a human soul follows the broadcast of God, it will experience redemption. The broadcast will result to conviction, repentance, and a change aspect of a life. It does not mean though that it can no longer receive the broadcast of Satan. However, if the soul firmly decided to take Jesus as Lord and Savior, and daily walk by God's grace, Satan can not snatch  or deceive that soul to follow his broadcast. The soul will experience continuous sanctification and healing from previous wounds caused by Satan.

• If a human soul follows the broadcast of Satan, it might experience worldly happiness, but, with each step away from God's goodness the soul will be torn and be broken to pieces. If God will not intervene the soul will lost its capacity to hear the broadcast of God. It will eventually become a transmitter of Satan's broadcast.

NOW where do I fit as a believer and follower of Jesus? As Jesus faithful follower, I am now a living receiver and transmitter of God's broadcast.

In receiving God's broadcast:

• If my spirit tunes in to the wavelength/frequency of the Holy Spirit, no matter what the medium is or who the transmitter is, I would receive voices and images of God's righteousness and goodness. It would then result to my thoughts, words, and actions aligning to God's Holiness.

In transmitting God's broadcast:

• The only limitation I hold in effectively transmitting God's message is to have the motive of God. Any other motive will dilute or pollute the message. God will hold me accountable for that intentional dilution or pollution. God will only correct me for any unseen error or projection. HOWEVER, God will not hold me accountable for the receiver's faulty wiring, wrong set-up, or blockage that occured along the way of transmission. Satan may have a stronghold or strongholds in the receiver's life that Satan was able to absorb the electromagnetic waves or distort the message to whatever pleases the dominant faculty (sense) of the receiver.

Really, what God just wanted to say is that:

• In receiving God's broadcast my own spirit must only tune in to the wavelength/frequency of the Holy Spirit. 
• In trasmitting ('the received') God's broadcast, I must only have the motive of God.

So moving forward, before I transmit God's broadcast I must first let the Holy Spirit search my soul for any hidden motive (or projection) that does not belong to God. If there is none, then, there is no reason for me to worry about or even take accountability on how receivers process the said broadcast.

Lord, let me just focus on You and  on searching my own soul for anything that is not in alignment with who You are. Let me live to see You glorified in me and through me. All for Jesus Name.
