The Power of Confession

Luke 13:1-9

When Jesus said something, it must be taken with outmost sincerity and in the above passage He pointed out that we all should/must repent or we will perish.

There is so much power in confession. Repentance should/must be the lifestyle of every follower of Christ.

And when we repent, it means we must not go back to the same sin. That sin can be as simple as gossip or can be as grave as murder.

And when we truly repent, it makes us right with God. And when we are right with God, no matter what people say, we are right with God.

AND when we are right with God, we are empowered to do what He commanded us to do - with clean hands and pure hearts.

I think the problem with most of us Christians is not repentance, but, being too familiar with repentance. We, most of the times, took for granted the grace that were given us by Jesus Himself and just go our own ways. Apostle Paul warned in one of his letters that those who do so repeatedly (even if being warned/instructed) will experience the discipline/wrath of God.

What is amazing about God is that when Jesus resurrected He is always interceding for all of us who belong to Him. Which means not even sin can separate us from His love.

Let those who belong to Christ rejoice for God is for us and He is against our enemies.

  1. Spread the love of God and the lifestyle of repentance.
