Then and Now

I do not wish to be over spiritual, but, I am greatly amazed by the truth that anyone in Christ can come directly to God now and God resides inside our hearts.

In Exodus 19:20-25, God had told Moses to warn the people again to never get near the mountain or they will be consumed. Only Moses and Aaron were summoned by God, any other person who dared to come up the mountain will be punished. God gave such a distinction to Moses (and extended it to Aaron because he was Moses' spokesperson), but, He had such compassion to others that He warned them again and again so they will not be destroyed.

In today's time, we, who have Christ are like Moses already, we can come directly to His presence and He wants to communicate with us every single day. (1 Peter 2:9)

Although, not all of us can tangibly feel His presence, He is with all of us. He is with us when we pray for His guidance. He is with us when we pray for protection. He is with us when we pray for others. He is with us when we worship together. He is with us when we humbly submit to His will. He is with us no matter what our emotions are or what we are going through. He is with us even if we are angry or disappointed. He is with us when we are joyful or sad. He is with us every step of the way.

However, just like the Israelites of Moses' time, we tend to disregard the miracles He already performed. Instead, we focus on the challenges in front of us, and that made us fall short of giving Him the honor due His Name.

He is all powerful, all-knowing, omnipresent, and nothing can stand against Him. Duh, all His enemies cower at the mention of His Name. But, to enforce that authority, you must stand in what He already have done for you - He ransomed you, redeemed you , and had forgiven you of your every known sin (small or big). You got a clean slate with Him. Enforce that. Take your stand in that truth and in His grace. AND do not agree to any other lies.

Btw, do you know that Jesus is the originator of the extra mile thing?Matthew 5:41. So, we, Christians, should be going for the extra mile, even if we don't feel like it.

As for prodigals, just hear this song:
