A Chicken Story ( An Action Comedy)

Fresh from praise and worship, I put on my 2-inches heels. Donned in skinny slacks and striped red long sleeves, I  walked out of the gate like a princess. I've got this funky attitude: " Don't stand in my way, baby, or I will thresh you! " Then the wind blew hard and my wonderful black hair tangled, and man, I bet, I looked for a moment like Valentina. (if you don't know Valentina, she's a 'kontrabida' to Darna). Brushed my black hair (like the old Rejoice commercial) and continue walking like a princess. Open chariots were everywhere, so, I get one and went my way. [ open chariot, tricyle sa mga hindi maka-gets. Tawa pa more.]

I have not watched any action movie except on my bus trips, but, today, I feel like the 'bida' of a great action movie. So, I went to my meeting with a smile on my face for the comedy that God had specially authored for me. (I love God for such funny moments. He is the ONLY author I would never ever get tired of imitating or learning from. He love making jokes for me. Gosh, what a Father!)

Going to another place, I rode another open chariot, this time I was on the back end. Oh my gosh, I saw the chicken with chicks crossed the street. Another open chariot was coming just after her and had one of her chicks almost killed. Funny with the hen is that it did not continue crossing the street, it stopped just right in the middle and waited for all of her chicks! (Don't ask me why the hen wanted to cross the street. Malay ko ba.) and it reminded me of the verse in the Bible. ( I have to Google to find the exact verse.)

“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing!" Matthew 23:37

LORD GOD ALMIGHTY, gather all Your chicks and embrace us with Your love. Let no one of Your child be left behind with what You are doing worldwide. I love You, LORD. Let my whole life be a pleasing living sacrifice. In Jesus Name. Amen.

  1. By the way, I did not scream: " Run, chicken, run!", I ate my scream as I was totally in self-control mode or else the tricycle driver would be startled. (Just in case people want to know.)
