Most people avoid pain. They will do everything and anything NOT to go through a painful process, and that caused themselves more pain - more than what is necessary for them.
Pain comes in different sizes, shapes, and forms. For the judgmental ones, they would think of their own pain and project that the author is experiencing the same pain they had.
Nah, if you are wise enough, you will not look at the author and simply evaluate yourself if you are going through a painful process now. {Yeah, I have my own pains, but, what is that to you if you don't truly care about me? I mean, why bother to know, when you are not part of the solution. Unless, you want gossip. HAHA!}
Believers or unbelievers go through painful processes.
Anyone who holds on to the testimony of Jesus is NOT exempted to some amount of pain. Maybe, even greater pain than most unbelievers. Why not? This world has fallen and the only way God can totally free your spirit (to reign as a daughter/son of God) is to break your soul, one break at a time. (rephrasing one of John Paul Jackson's preaching).
You can overcome pain by refusing to be bitter on people whom you think had caused you pain - people who misunderstood you, people who judge you, people who reject you, people who betrayed you, people who mistreated you, people who hurt you.
To overcome any pain, trust the One who created you.
So, I love this song from Elevation Worship.
