I feel like Isaiah 49:21. Not that I am proud or what. I am simply amazed. Amazed at what my God can do and how He turns everything for my good. And I want to be a good steward of what God had given me, so, I asked Him today to give my children what they needed.
As I was eating, God said my children need some story. I guess they miss my storytelling. Is it true? Only my children and God know.
Ok, here we go.

When  I was a kid, I HATE all vegetables except one, squash. (Is squash even a vegetable or a gourd? Never mind.) I will ate no vegetable but squash. I will always be proud of myself when I eat squash and would proudly tell my Tatay that I was like a 'sigbin'. 'Sigbin' is a mythical creature told from generation to generation of my folks. They said that it look like a goat with fangs and its favorite food is squash. When I was a child, I believed every single thing (tall tales) the old people  tell to scare children to eat or to sleep. Growing up, I haven't seen any 'sigbin', but, I don't like vegetables. I used to hate those green, bitter, bland, and 'slimy' vegetables.
However, after God freed me, my taste buds went ballistic. It now appreciate every single taste. It even craves for those vegetables. In fact, I just had  ginataang 'bamboo shoots'. Which reminded me that originally, what was given to man to eat were fresh and unadulterated plants, seed-bearing plants and fruits with seed in it. (Ok, that was superceded after the great flood, when God said we can now eat animals and fish. However, my point is that God's original plan is the best. )
My prayer for my children: "May God heal your taste buds and enable you to eat everything that are good for your physical health. For your good and for His glory and in Jesus Name. Amen."
