The Essence of GOD
What is like to stay under the presence of God? Probably it would feel like what Moses felt when he stayed 40days conversing with God at the mountain top. Did Moses ever eat that whole time or God's essence sustained him all those time? I don't know. The Bible did not tell.
What I'm sure though is that God is still present in the assembly of His faithful people. (Jesus is living inside the heart of each true believer.) Where God is, His essence is simply evident. (Tangible even to those who are sensitive to His Spirit. Ah it's like what David had said in one of his Psalms: I want to dwell in the presence of God forever.)
What is the essence of God? Bliss. Not the kind of bliss that the world knows. It is a peaceful bliss that says to your spirit: "I am your home, child. Be at peace."
Why am I saying these things? Maybe, what I just wanna say is that what you carry inside you emanate outside. So, when people carry inside them negative things, it is impossible not for them to overflow it outside. Same thing with good things.
That's why (in the secular world) when you are around people who are angry, you can't help but feel angry too. When you are around judgmental people, you want to judge others too. When you are around hypocrites, in time you become like them too.
That's the reason why Christians must always do a self-check when they are working in a secular area. What kind of spirit am I partnering with? or what kind of stuff am I carrying inside?
If it's the Holy Spirit, then it's alright - you can always - if you only let God to overflow - influence your surrounding to partner with the Holy Spirit. Have you tried that?
The room is full of whatever, then you came in and just work by the grace of God, and the whatever notice you working hard and (some out of envy) they started working hard too.
It is kind hard to change atmosphere though when a different broadcast comes from one of higher authority. What the higher authority permits, stays. So, if they permit hypocrisy, hypocrisy stays. Some permit even more horrible spirit than hypocrisy - they are too nice and clean to admit it, how respectable of them - so, they shut off anyone who would turn on the lights and lead them to God. Sometimes, it is so tempting to irritate or insult back such people, specially if you know who really they are. Anyways, its their lives, if they don't want the living God, why bother? (ei gusto nila yun ei, just that in time, they will always reap what they sow) So, if you cannot influence or join them, leave them. Just that simple. (At least for me.)
As an encouragement to those who are working for God in a secular world: persecution is actually an indicator that you are living God's standards. Don't despair, you are not alone in that. Just continue to emit God's essence. You're not fighting against people anyway, but against the dark forces in the spiritual realm. So, treat them nice even if they don't deserve it, who knows one day a few of them will encounter God and change their outlook on life. But, if they ganged up against you, maybe, God is already saying: It's time for your next assignment. So, just ask the Holy Spirit and heed. (Isaiah 52: 11-12)
