Jesus' Bloody Red Sacrifice

Yes, it is Lent.

The time of the year when Christians around the world remember what JESUS did on the Cross. His bloody red sacrifice.

I will be one with the Christian community in celebrating this Lent season by sharing my 'note-to-self' Biblical reminders and truths.

Do not be overrighteous neither be overwise – why destroy yourself? (Ecclesiastes 7:16)
  • So, when others are behaving rudely, let them know you can use your teeth if you want to. Just make sure you play within the rules. AND listen to advices and do not just rely on your own wisdom.

As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.   (Ecclesiastes 11:5)
  • It is useless to go against God. Just be a blessing anywhere you go even if you don't understand God's mind. No matter where you are, let God do what He needs to do in and through you.

If I cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would have not listened; (Psalm 66:18)
  • For a prayer to be answered, God only requires faith and obedience. So, when you sin (in words  or thoughts or actions), repent and let the Holy Spirit change your ways.

Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus. (Philippians 2:5)
  •  People may not always understand your views and may persecute you for what you believe in and what you are, but remember what Jesus did on the cross and what He endured from people.

Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son  is not disciplined by his father? (Hebrews 12:7)
  • Any trial that comes your way is supposed to make you (1) stronger and wiser; and (2) lose your selfish or worldly ways. It means choosing faith over unbelief, patience over hatred, peace over worry, and hope over discouragement. Definitely, if you learn nothing, it's just your fault and no one else.

Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. (Hebrews 12:14)
  •  Holiness simply means choosing to obey God regardless of external circumstances or internal conflicts. As not everyone share the same mindset, just live at peace wherever you are by respecting differences and preferences.

For our struggles is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 6:12)
  • People are people. They only do bad when they are either ruled by their flesh or by twisted mindsets.

But the fruit of the Holy Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:7)

  • If the Holy Spirit indeed resides in you, then the fruit is just too obvious not to be noticed. No effort needed.
