How Opinions Hamper a Nation's Growth

Political issues left and right, and negative news  here and there makes me wonder how could a nation be torn by the very people who considered themselves faithful to that nation.

I wonder if we, Filipinos, would ever change and just let our love for our country show up through our renewed words and actions.

I wonder what heights could our nation reach if we cast away our biases and just work our way toward common growth and development.

I wonder what a peaceful nation  the Philippines could be if the self-serving and power hungry authorities are ousted and replaced by genuinely nationalistic and patriotic individuals.

I wonder who can bring that change to our nation. Can the President do it by himself? Is his authority and leadership enough to stir the nation toward that peace and development? I wish he could and he would. However, the President can do nothing without God's annointing.

Only God can change hearts of peoples and only He alone can expose and oust hypocrites in power. He alone has the sole sovereignty over all creation, so, only he alone can rightly judge a person's intention. (So, if you're a child of God, you will not sit on your Father's judgment seat.) Besides, if you don't lift a finger to alleviate a person's suffering why bother to voice out an opinion?

Can your opinion save innocent victims of prejudices and violence? or can it feed the thousands who fled from their war-torn places? or can it stir hearts to do what is good and right? If it can't why bother, you are only as good as those hypocrites.

So, with all these news and with all these flooding opinions, we Filipinos should remember, opinions are mere opinions, facts remain facts, and a nation cannot stand strong against its enemies when its people are divided.

May God help the Philippines, and us, Filipinos, to help ourselves be worthy citizens of an amazingly blessed nation.
