Whose Voice Are You Hearing

No, don't look at me. You might not even know 1% of my heart or of my life story. I'm not God. Besides, on my own I may not even know or care about you, I'm just doing what God wants me to do.

No, don't look at others.

For your sake look at yourself and ask: whose voice are you really hearing? 

When you do the things you do, when you speak the words you speak, when you think the thoughts you hold on to, when you say the prayers your saying.

Whose voice are you hearing? 

Is it really the voice of God or just the voice of your selfish desires? 

Is it really the voice of truth or just the voice of made up lies? 

Is the voice leading you to the light or is it pushing you toward the deepest pit?

Whose voice are you hearing? 

Does it give you hope? 

Does it give you life? 

Whose voice are you hearing?

Stop. Listen. 

Please don't mock God. You can never bribe or manipulate God. You can never cajole God to curse the children he had chosen to bless. His love is burning for his children, and he will surely defeat and judge those who oppress them.

Should you be one of his sheep, you should hear his voice. Don't stray. Go back to your Father. Jesus is calling out your name. He will heal your wounds. He will make whole your brokenness. What's the point of running away from his presence? What's the point of continuous rebellion?

Listen closely. Whose voice are you hearing?
