As a kid, (though) my elder sisters tried as much as they can to keep me guarded (to have that afternoon nap). However, on supposed to be nap time, I still managed to: roam the fields, cat-fight with other kids (relatives), climb trees, eat wild berries, swim through (though I don't know how to swim ) rivers and ponds, and do all the crazy stuff that kids in the province enjoyed. Gosh, and all those kneeling on salt and mongo seeds never tamed my thirst for adventure. (That was just for a season, I grew up just fine as a girl.)
I wonder how kids are doing right now, and how technology (cellphone) would affect their teenage years and their mental health.
I think it is time for parents and teachers to rise up together to help the kids of this generation find their simple joys. It could only be a quality time with their parents, or some encouraging words from their teachers, or some activities to discover their talents and get their minds productive.
Time to stop and cancel the 'depressing cloud' hovering over the minds of both the young and not-so-young.
Well, if anybody is reading this and is in an on-off depression, it is time for you to open up to people who can help you. Stop fighting this battle on your own. Seek help. Seek godly counsel. God can get you out of it, if you are willing to let Him get you out of it. Don't resist His hand.
